About the Named At Last Team
Head Stork
Marcia Yudkin, Ph.D. |
Marcia Yudkin fell
in love with words as a child and never recovered. At age
seven, she read poems she had written on a TV show in New Haven,
Connecticut. At age 10, her bedtime reading was a book
called 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary.
She went on to earn three Ivy
League degrees in the humanities. At Brown, she was
voted into the honor society Phi Beta Kappa, despite having
opted for pass/fail grading all four years. She chose
Cornell for graduate school over Princeton, Yale and Berkeley so
she could study with Norman Malcolm, a protégé of her hero,
the philosopher of language Ludwig Wittgenstein.
After a few years teaching at
Smith College, she left academic life to become a
freelance writer, making her debut with a personal experience
piece in The New York Times. Other publications in
which her work appeared include Ms., Psychology Today, New
Age Journal, Cosmopolitan, Ladies Home Journal, USAir
Magazine and Business 2.0.
Marcia has delivered commentaries on
National Public Radio, served as a syndicated columnist and
published 11 books, including 6 Steps to Free Publicity, Web
Site Marketing Makeover and Persuading on Paper. Starting
in 1992, she built a worldwide reputation for helping other people succeed through
creative marketing.
Her clients have run the gamut from software
entrepreneurs and publishing companies to physicians, financial
services firms and auto parts recycling companies.
