About the Named At Last Team

Head Stork
Marcia Yudkin, Ph.D.
Marcia Yudkin fell in love with words as a child and never recovered.  At age seven, she read poems she had written on a TV show in New Haven, Connecticut.  At age 10, her bedtime reading was a book called 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary.

She went on to earn three Ivy League degrees in the humanities.  At Brown, she was voted into the honor society Phi Beta Kappa, despite having opted for pass/fail grading all four years.  She chose Cornell for graduate school over Princeton, Yale and Berkeley so she could study with Norman Malcolm, a protg of her hero, the philosopher of language Ludwig Wittgenstein.

After a few years teaching at Smith College, she left academic life to become a freelance writer, making her debut with a personal experience piece in The New York Times.  Other publications in which her work appeared include Ms., Psychology Today, New Age Journal, Cosmopolitan, Ladies Home Journal, USAir Magazine and Business 2.0.

Marcia has delivered commentaries on National Public Radio, served as a syndicated columnist and published 15 books, including 6 Steps to Free Publicity, Web Site Marketing Makeover and Meatier Marketing Copy.  Starting in 1992, she built a worldwide reputation for helping other people succeed through creative marketing.

Her clients have run the gamut from software entrepreneurs and publishing companies to physicians, financial services firms and auto parts recycling companies.

To prevent poaching of our flock of storks, we keep their identities secret.  Here, though, are a few profiles to give you an idea of the range of the talent we have on call.

Storklet Sam

Winner of second prize in a soccer chant contest judged by England's Poet Laureate, Sam has made a living in executive recruiting, accounting, marketing and sales.  Trained as a copywriter, in his spare time he writes comedy, poetry and screenplays and serves as Vice-President of Education for his Toastmasters club.

Storklet Stoner

Currently partner in a web development firm, Stoner has held jobs as disparate as mechanical engineer, editor of a hobby magazine and sales of automotive parts.  For fun, he races street rods, plays guitar, bikes, golfs and reads up on business strategy.

Storklet Suzi

Vice-president of sales at a software company, Suzi has held positions as a product manager, tech support rep and LAN technician.  Her hobbies include gardening, fishing, travel and seeking outlets for her verbal creativity.

Storklet Sandra

Multi-talented Sandra is a classically trained actress, a director of Shakespeare productions and poet published in top literary reviews.  She has also worked on Wall Street, as a fitness instructor and as a practitioner of Asian bodywork.

Storklet Simon

A year away from receiving his doctorate in ancient history from an Australian university, Simon has a thorough knowledge of both Greek and Latin.  For a change of pace, he works with his hands through cooking, painting and building harpsichords.
